Budget Kitchen Remodeling – Small Reno Big Impact

Budget kitchen remodeling

Times are tight, which means many folks who would love to update their kitchens find themselves holding back from a full-scale renovation. But we have good news for those keeping a close eye on their bank accounts: There are many ways you can give your kitchen a whole new look without breaking the bank.

The Very Cool Guys at V.C.G. Construction give you this list of low-cost, high-impact renovations for small-scale kitchen remodeling projects. These changes can breathe new life into an old kitchen, granting your wish for change without emptying your wallet…We bring you budget kitchen remodeling!

1. Sand, prime, and paint cabinets.

Replacing cabinets can be one of the biggest costs involved in a large-scale kitchen remodeling project. To scale down costs in budget kitchen remodeling consider sanding, priming, and painting the existing cabinets instead. You’d be surprised how much a fresh color scheme and some new luster can improve the look of the kitchen. Afterwards, replace cabinet pulls with new ones.

2. Spice up the lighting.

Another small change with big results is updating your lighting. Adding under-cabinet lighting, for example, is a great way to shift the entire tone of the kitchen while enhancing its functionality. (More lighting = easier veggie chopping.) Go the whole nine yards by adding new pendant lights over the breakfast bar, island, or table and chairs.

3. Bring the backsplash up to par.

A popular move for budget kitchen remodeling is to replace or install a backsplash. Highlight the area above the sink or stove with porcelain, ceramic, vinyl, wood, or other varieties of relatively inexpensive tile. It’s a great way to protect these areas from grease and other common cooking stains while giving your kitchen a dash of contemporary style.

4. Add open kitchen shelving.

Small kitchens can really benefit from open kitchen shelving, which is created by removing the doors of a few (or all) of the cabinets. This change creates depth and texture in rooms that may otherwise be very confined, while allowing you more opportunities to show off your personal style. (You might put your artsy coffee mugs or colorful dishware on display!) Other homeowners choose to add whimsical wallpaper to the back wall to make a truly artistic impact.

5. Add a new laminate floor.

This move is surprisingly affordable, and today there are some amazing-looking, incredibly durable varieties out there for your budget kitchen remodeling project. Plus, you can always count on a laminate floor to stand up to the toughest messes your clan can inflict.

What do you recommend for low budget kitchen remodeling? We’d be happy to hear your thoughts! We’d also love to work with any homeowner looking to make some updates to the kitchen. Just give us a call at (610) 810-1518 to start tossing around ideas!
